OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Many individuals on the autism spectrum benefit from occupational therapy and/or physical therapy.  We offer expert services in state-of-the-art facilities to provide for our clients’ sensory and motoric needs.  We always begin with a thorough evaluation and sensory screening to determine which treatment methods will be most effective.  We offer a host of sensory integration modalities, and often work with clients at Fitness for Health for its enticing exergaming equipment.  Clients enjoy virtual reality sports games, a 12 ft. glow in the dark rock wall, a 30 ft. trampoline, and a laser room.  The result is that clients improve their body awareness, balance, visual and auditory integration, visual perception, motor planning, speed and reaction time, coordination, and strength in a fun and motivating way.

Each of our Occupational Therapists holds a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy and has expert knowledge of neurology, anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, child development, psychology and psychosocial development.  Our therapists maintain extensive experience working with individuals with many developmental differences including autism, Down’s Syndrome, spina bifida, cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, sensory processing disorder and Attention Deficit (Hyperactive) Disorder.  Our goal is always to deliver customized therapeutic services that are effective in helping our clients reach their maximum potential.
